A lifelong bookworm, book shopaholic, quiet writer, and DNA connoisseur, Danna Zeiger is a molecular-biologist-professor-turned-homeschooling-mama-and-children's-book-author! Since her days as poetry editor for her high school’s newspaper, she has always aspired to be an author, even if her journey has been a little circuitous. For seven years, she served as Professor and Program Director for Fisher College's Biology Program, serving disadvantaged and first-in-the family students from diverse backgrounds.
As a scientist, Danna has always been passionate about making STEM accessible. She is published in prestigious scientific journals including Science, Neuron, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, as well as several newspapers and blogs, including Chronicle of Higher Education, Kveller, and Eureka, the Charles River Laboratory blog ... and can't wait to also be published in the literary world. Her debut nonfiction picture book will be published in Fall 2025—stay tuned!
While homeschooling her three spirited kids, she also established a STEM accessibility and educational resource entitled DrZatHome.
Growing up in an immigrant family, Danna was raised with and speaks three languages fluently. She dreams in different languages, depending on which family she’s hanging out with on a given day.
